Shaq Blames Himself for Divorce From Ex-Wife Shaunie O’Neal Shaq was on The Pivot podcast when he was asked about his divorce years ago from Shaunie O’Neal. Shaq took full accountability for the divorce even when one of the hosts tried to interject and tell him ‘it takes two.’ Shaq said, I was bad. She was awesome she really was it was all me. We don’t need to talk about what I was doing but I wasn’t protecting her and protecting those vows. She was doing what she was supposed to do-gave me beautiful kids, took care of the house, took care of corporate stuff. Shaq admitted he was living a double life and got caught up.
