Highway Updates, Affordable Housing, School Repairs and More: Biden Unveils Ambitious $2T Infrastructure Plan
Biden Unveils $2.2 Trillion Infrastructure Plan Promising to rebuild the “backbone of America,” President Joe Biden on Wednesday unveiled his $2.2 trillion plan to improve infrastructure in the United States. “Today, I’m proposing a plan for the nation that rewards work, not just rewards wealth,” Biden said of the American Jobs Plan. “It builds a fair economy that gives everybody a chance to succeed. And it’s going to create the strongest, most resilient innovative economy in the world. It’s not a plan that tinkers around the edges. It’s a once-in-a-generation investment in America. Here’s the truth: We’ll all do better when we all do well.” The plan calls to spend $621 billion on road improvements; $400 billion on care services for the elderly and disabled; $300 billion on manufacturing; and $100 billion to provide every American with reliable, high-speed internet access, among other things.
