Brittney Griner Pleads Guilty to Drug Charges in Russia Detained WNBA star Brittney Griner pleaded guilty in a Russian court on Thursday. “I’d like to plead guilty, your honor. But there was no intent. I didn’t want to break the law,” Griner said, according to Reuters. Griner added, “I’d like to give my testimony later. I need time to prepare.” Griner has been detained in Russia since February after being arrested for allegedly trying to bring cannabis oil-filled vape cartridges through a Moscow airport.
