U.S. Officials Visit Brittney Griner in Russia A U.S. Embassy official visited detained WNBA star Brittney Griner in Russia. A spokesperson from the U.S. State Department shared the information on Wednesday, noting to CNN that Griner appeared “to be in good condition.” According to the spokesperson, the U.S. “will do everything we can to see that she is treated fairly throughout this ordeal.” Griner’s lawyers, meanwhile, have been able to visit her during her time in Russia.
