R Kelly To Be Sentenced Today. Lawyer Blames Childhood Sexual Abuse by His Sister for His “Hypersexuality Sentencing is scheduled today (Wednesday) in the R.Kelly case. He faces up to 25 years in prison. His attorney is asking for 10 years. His lawyer is asking for a lenient sentence because of the repeated sexual abuse he endured from his sister when he was a child. In newly unsealed court documents his lawyer stated the abuse led to his ‘hypersexual’ behavior.
