LeBron James Won’t Let Son Call Him ‘Dad’ On The Court
While one would think playing on an NBA team with a superstar father would be incredibly stressful, it turns out LeBron James has laid down just one rule for his son-turned-Lakers teammate Bronny: He’s told his son, “Don’t call me ‘Dad’” when they’re on the court together. “[He] cannot call me ‘Dad’ in the workplace,” the older James says. “Once we leave out of the private facility and the gates close, I can be ‘Dad’ again. At home I can be ‘Dad.’ He got to call me, like, ‘two-three’ or ‘Bron.’ Or, you know, ‘G.O.A.T.,’ if he want to. It’s up to him.” Bronny James made his debut with the Lakers in the NBA Summer League, averaging 8.8 points, 3.5 rebounds and one assist over four games. LeBron James is heading into his 22nd NBA season, coming off a season in which he averaged 25.7 points, 7.3 rebounds and 8.3 assists per game. If you played on a team with your son, would you have a problem with him calling you “Dad?” Why or why not?
