90s R&B Singer Jesse Powell Passes Away At Age 51

R&B singer Jesse Powell has passed away at the age of 51. The cause of death is unknown. The news was confirmed by his sister, Tamara Powell, who posted a statement on her Instagram page about her brother’s passing.

“It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our beloved son, brother and uncle, Jesse Powell. He passed away peacefully in his Los Angeles home. The family asks for privacy at this time as we mourn this tremendous loss and celebrate his everlasting legacy.”

Powell’s biggest hit, “You,” peaked at #2 on the Billboard R&B Chart and #10 on the Hot 100 in 1999. In the early 2000s, he would leave the music business after putting out four studio albums.
