Brittney Griner’s Wife Urges Biden To ‘Go Get Her’ Cherelle Griner, wife of WNBA star Brittney Griner, opened up about her partner’s detention in Russia on Good Morning America. She called on President Biden to intervene: “There is one person that can go get her, and that’s our president. He has that power… Why are we not using it?” Cherelle says she’s had conversations with U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken as well as WNBA commissioner Cathy Engelbert and NBA commish Adam Silver. Griner has been detained since February, when Russian authorities say she was caught carrying vape cartridges of cannabis oil in a Moscow airport.
