Aunjanue Ellis Joins the Cast of ‘The Color Purple’ Oscar award nominated actress Aunjanue Ellis has joined the cast of The Color Purple. She will play Celie and Nettie’s mother. Aunjanue joins a very loaded cast of super stars like Fantasia Barrino, Danielle Brooks, Taraji P Henson, Corey Hawkins, H.E.R, Deon Cole, Ciara, Louis Gossett Jr, David Alan Grier, Tamala Mann…and MORE!!! It is due to be released December 2023
