The Miami Valley Regional Planning Commission and the Regional Air Pollution Control Agency issued an Air Quality Alert for Dayton and surrounding cities and counties, lasting all day Tuesday until midnight.

The alert, which included Greenville, Troy, Springfield, Dayton, Kettering, Beavercreek, and Xenia, among other cities, was put in effect due to “levels of air pollution within the region may approach or exceed unhealthy standards,” according to the National Weather Service.

Wildfires in Canada have been causing air quality effects in the US since the fires broke out in late May. For more updates on the effect it’ll have on our area, visit the National Weather Service Forecast Office Wilmington’s site here.
