Yvonne Staples of The Staples Singers Has Passed at 80

Few acts combined Gospel and R&B music better than The Staples Singers did in the 1970s. They were a family act in the truest sense of the word and helped open the door for hundreds of artists. We are sad to report that Yvonne Staples, the group’s baritone voice, has died at age 80.
