The film marks a directing debut for Angela Bassett, who had worked with the late Whitney Houston. Unsurprisingly, family of Houston didn’t show up for the event due to their lack of involvement in the project and possibly due to the amount of criticism drawn from this biopic and Lifetime’s most recent, “Aaliyah: The Princess of R&B.”

This comes after Prince did a 3-hour Q&A session with fans on his Facebook page. During the entire event, he only briefly answered one fan’s question.

The social media accounts may have only been used as a means to promote the two albums that Prince dropped this year. Did you listen to either of the two new albums?
